These courses may be the courses offered by the Departments in their respective areas i.e. Electronics Department offering M.Tech in information security could offer in electronics while the Communication Department could offer courses in communication etc.
Major Graduate Project
The students should do a major project in information security.
Pre-requisite for M.Tech in Information Security
Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Computers, Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
M.Tech in Computers with Specialisation in Information Security to be offered by IITs
lITs which are likely to be the Resource Centres under the Project, are at present offering M.Tech in Computer Science / Engineering, with enough number of students. These Institutes could offer specialisation in Information Security to 10 Computer Science / engineering students. These Computer Science / Engineering students who would specialize in Information Security would have to take up:
Three courses in Information Security and Major Graduate Project in Information security.
The three courses could be from the list mentioned above for M.Tech in Information security.
However, if desired, IITs could initiate a new course entitled "M. Tech in Information Security "
