Information security Awareness workshop
at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kommadi, Visakhapatnam

The workshop on Information Security Awareness was conducted for 50 Teachers from JNV School cluster and 60 school students of IX and XII standards from JNV Kommadi.
The chief guests of the function Mr.Surrender Rao Scientist-F DRDO,HOD of Computer Science Department from Chaitanya Engineering College Visakhapatnam gave brief description of how information can be spoofed on internet and enlighten the importance of information security. He also told that today's technology is not tomarrows since ethics are going down,we need to give value for ethics. It is our responsibility and need to guard the information in a secure way.
Later session started on the safe web browsing, online attacks, online risks and safety measures that to be taken and went upon with interactive sessions and questions were raised on how to recognize the trusted sites, virtual keyboards and usage of parental control bars.
In the afternoon, session was conducted for school children about Internet ethics and safe web browsing and the safety measures that to be taken while using internet.
At the end of the session quiz was conducted for school children and winners are awarded with fabulous gifts.
