Never ever use your personal information over the Internet
Phishers, spam mails, etc may use your personal information for fraudulent purposes

If your mail server supports SSL then make sure you enable SSL in your mail client
Disable load images option which comes by default
Configure your mail client in such a way that it prompts you before loading remote content or images

E-mail users are being bombarded with authentic-looking messages those instruct them to provide sensitive/personal information It's called 'phishing'
Use anti-virus and anti-spyware software as well update them regularly
Enable phishing filter in your mail client and web browser
